The Palais Garnier opera house

Come see the Opera Garnier, conceived by Napoleon lll and built by Charles Garnier. Unveiled in 1875, it is one of the oldest standing theaters in Paris. During this guided tour you will relive the ambiance particular to the end of the 19th century where all of Paris loved to see and be seen at the Opera.

General admission starting at 8€

  • Youth (age 12-25) and their chaperones* : 7€ chaperones are the same. 1 chaperone for 9 max
  • Free admission: Preschool and grade school students and their chaperones (1 chaperone per 5 children); Students from the Ecole du Louvre or an Architectural College

Note that the auditorium may only be viewed from box seats. Admission to the auditorium may be restricted due to technical or artistic reasons. The admission ticket is also valid for temporary exhibitions.

Tickets give admission to the public areas, including:
The Opera Library-Museum (Bibliothèque nationale de France, permanent collection, set models, works of art), the Member’s Rotunda, the statue of Prophetess Pythia, Grand Staircase, Grand Foyer, Avant-Foyer, Salons de la lune et du soleil, Rotonde du Glacier and tapestries.

Reservation required

The opera house closes at 5pm, last tour begins at 3pm
